Habitly Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Habitly is a habit-accountability app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what control you have. The short version: your habit data is yours, we do not sell it, and we do not run ads.

1. What we collect

Account details you give us: your email address, your display name, and a profile picture if you choose to set one. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the account identifier and email that provider shares with us, nothing more. If you use Habitly as a guest, we create no account at all.

Habit data you create: your contracts, check-ins, streaks, notes, reminder times, and any groups or layout you set up.

2. Photos, location, and notifications

These are only ever used for the feature you asked for, and only when you turn that feature on.

Photos and camera. Used when you choose photo verification for a habit, or set a profile picture. Photos you take for verification stay on your device. We do not upload them to our servers.

Location. Used only for habits where you chose GPS check-in or an avoidance zone. Habitly checks your position at the moment you verify, compares it to the zone you defined, and keeps the result (pass or fail), not a location history. Habitly only requests location while the app is open, and never tracks you in the background.

Notifications. Used to send the habit reminders you schedule. You can turn them off at any time in your device settings.

3. What we do NOT do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We do not run ads or ad tracking in Habitly. We do not use your habit data to build advertising profiles.

4. Where your data lives

Habitly stores your data on your device. If you create an account, your data is also stored in Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore) so it can sync to your other devices and survive losing your phone. Firebase acts as our service provider and processes this data on our behalf. Guest users' data never leaves their device.

5. Deleting your account and data

You can permanently delete your account from inside the app: Settings, Danger zone, Delete Account. That erases your account and all associated habit data from our systems. It cannot be undone. If you would rather we did it for you, email support.habitly@gmail.com and we will handle it.

6. Children

Habitly is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, email support.habitly@gmail.com and we will delete it.

7. Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the date at the top and note it in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.

8. Contact

Questions about privacy, or requests to access or delete your data, can be sent to support.habitly@gmail.com.
