Privacy Policy

Kiso does not collect any personal data.

There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party code of any kind in the app. Kiso makes no network requests. Your photos and videos never leave your device except when you save them to your own photo library or export them to a folder you choose.

What this policy covers

This policy applies to the Kiso Camera app for iPhone (com.kisocamera.app). It explains what the app does with information on your device, and confirms what it does not do.

Information we collect

None. Kiso has no servers and makes no network connections. Nothing you shoot, and nothing about how you use the app, is transmitted anywhere.

Specifically, Kiso does not collect, transmit, sell, or share:

Your name, email address, phone number, or any other contact information
Your photos, videos, or any metadata attached to them
Your location
Device identifiers, advertising identifiers, or any tracking identifiers
Usage data, crash reports, diagnostics, or analytics of any kind

Because Kiso does not track you across apps or websites, it does not present Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.

Permissions the app asks for, and why

Permission	Why Kiso asks
Camera	To show the viewfinder and take photos and videos. Required for the app to function at all.
Microphone	To record audio with your videos. Requested only in video mode, and the microphone is disconnected in photo and timelapse modes.
Photo library (add)	To save the photos and videos you capture.
Photo library (full access)	Optional. Used only to keep a "Kiso" album, and to read back the captures Kiso itself made when you export them. Kiso never browses, reads, or uploads the rest of your library. Declining this costs you the album and the export feature and nothing else; your captures are still saved normally.

Data stored on your device

Kiso keeps the following in its own storage on your iPhone. None of it is transmitted, and all of it is removed when you delete the app.

Your settings and presets, so the app opens the way you left it.
Captures awaiting save. Kiso writes every photo and video to its own storage before asking your photo library to accept it, and only deletes that copy once the library has taken it. This is what allows a capture interrupted by a crash or a shutdown to be recovered the next time you open the app.
Timelapse frames while a timelapse is being shot, until the finished movie is saved.
A list of the captures Kiso made, so the export screen can find them again. This holds the system's own reference to each asset plus the settings used, not the images themselves.

Purchases

Kiso Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the transaction; Kiso never sees your payment details, and we receive no personal information about you from Apple. The app checks with Apple only to confirm whether a valid purchase exists on your Apple Account.

Children

Kiso is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Data protection laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, delete, or port the personal data a company holds about you, and to opt out of its sale.

Kiso holds no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, export, or delete, and nothing that could be sold. Everything the app stores is on your own device and under your control. Deleting the app removes all of it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on the App Store.
