Common questions

Where do my photos go?

To your photo library, and to a "Kiso" album if you have granted full photo library access. Kiso writes each capture to its own storage first and only releases that copy once your library has accepted it, so an interrupted save is recovered rather than lost.

A capture was interrupted. Is it gone?

No. Open Kiso again and it will finish saving anything that was still in progress, and tell you how many it recovered. Settings shows how much is still waiting.

Why is the viewfinder not filling the screen?

Because the camera shoots 4:3 and your screen is much taller than it is wide. Showing the whole frame means what you see is what gets saved. If you prefer the picture to fill the screen, turn on Settings › Viewfinder › Fill the screen with the viewfinder, but note the saved photo will then be wider than what you framed.

What does Kiso Pro include?

Screen-off recording, timelapse and astro presets, false colour, zebras, focus peaking, the live histogram, custom frame guides, gray-card white balance, the Looks library, lossless export with your own file naming, ProRes and ProRAW, and unlimited presets.

Shooting, saving, and recovery are free forever. Every capture is saved to your photo library on any tier, and nothing you have already shot is ever locked behind a subscription.

How do I cancel or manage my subscription?

On your iPhone: Settings › your name › Subscriptions, or use this link. Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by Kiso.

I paid, but Pro is not unlocked.

Open the Kiso Pro screen and tap Restore. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you purchased with.

Recording stopped when I left the app.

iOS suspends camera access whenever an app is not in front, so no app can keep recording in the background. For long takes, use the screen-off feature, and turn on Guided Access in iOS Settings › Accessibility to keep the phone in Kiso.
